I bought this KA-BAR from a USMC Helicopter Pilot a very long time ago. I met him at Legion Post 214 in Upper Darby PA. He had several of these and told me this one was never sharpened by him and that he kept it in an emergency bag next to his seat in the Helicopter. He also showed me a brand new in the wrap 1911A1 Colt. It was covered in cosmolean and paper. He said he made a trade with a supply officer. He gave the supply officer a new AK47 with chest rig that came directly from a NVA Cache that was uncovered in northern VN by the Marines. The 1911A1 was marked USMC. That was a nice piece and he was not going to sell it.

The sheath is different from the normal KA-BARs I have owned and seen. It has a Makers Mark that I cannot read but is at least two words long, starts with and M and is in Phila PA. The maker's mark is under my thumb in the bottom of the picture on the leather belt loop.

Here are the pictures:

Any thoughts on it's value?

That's in good shape. $75-150 depending on the collector

I said collector. Find a eBay or knife board specifically to get top dollar.

THE EE Is " moms basement " you will be lucky to get $50 for it.

Why? Because you are fighting against prices of modern fixed blades.

For full value go where the age is valued.

Not sayn it won't happen.... It's just not likely....
