GSG 1911 questions.

I know this isn't a GSG 22 rifle but id like to get answers from a representative.
I just bought a GSG 1911 and was wondering if there is a way i can tell if it is the newer or older style?
I know some had problems with the bushings made from bad metals. I'll be out of country in 6 months for 2 years. If i have problems with the gun when i get back it will be out of warranty. How can i check to see if mien should last?

Hi Sir,
See if your barrel bushing is magnetic. If it is magnetic you are good, if not please call me at 1-800-290-0065 ext 141 and i will take care of you. Are you in the service? If so THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!!!!!

I'm not in the service but i will be after i return. Checked and my barrel bushing is magnetic. I have also heard about safety's breaking and other misc stuff.
I'm the kind of guy who loses small parts, is there a place i could buy spares in case this pistol leaves the market?

I noticed on a range trip in early august that my guide rod had chips out of it with bare metal showing from something scraping on it. I went to my gun shop and talked about it and he received parts from you and repaired it. I'll shoot it this afternoon or tomorrow and see if it is still doing the same thing.
