I've read that you can do it. Is there any reason why I shouldn't buy a real MP-5 handguard and put it on my GSG-5? Any issues?
To me the factory GSG-5 handguard seems cheap-feeling.
Thanks.
I have the HK slim handguard from rrages.com and it feels much more solid than stock.
+1 Much better than stock.

I put a standard OD green MP5 HG on my GSG, a world of difference from the crap that came with it. Do the push pin mod as well when you do this. It does take some dremeling on the inside rear of the HG to fit the GSG reciever, but not noticeable when it is mounted. There is a large shelf on the inside that also must be ground off, again, not visible when mounted. If you go slow and test fit frequently it will be extremely tight fitting. Do the real HK buttstock while you are at it too. Requires some more fitting but do the same method of measure twice, cut once, test fit over and over and you will be happy with it. The plastic of the HK stuff grinds down very easily with the sanding and grinding wheels, almost melts off.
