Looking at either the RCBS Uniflow, hornady lock-n-load PM or the lee automatic powder measure. Which to go with? i'm looking to do mostly plinking ammo for rifle and pistol. If the lee sucks, i'd rather spend the extra money rather than be disappointed and have to spend the money to get one of the others anyway.

Given those choices, I would go with the Hornady.

I have never used the Lee automatic powder measure but I did start out with the Lee Perfect Powder measure. It never worked very good for me.
I got the RCBS Uniflow and it is way better. It throws more consistent charges, and it operates smoother. It will last you a life time. If you get the RCBS
just make sure you clean it off well it has a coating of anti rust stuff that gun powder loves to stick to and it wont throw consistent charges.
Hornady One Shot Gun Cleaner and Dry lube works well to clean it. It's worth paying a little more for the RCBS Uniflow in my opinion.

The perfect powder measure is what i meant, thanks for catching that. And thanks for the insight on its quality as well.

Was looking at the redding too, but it's a little out of my price range right now.

I like the uniflows, but after you add cost of micrometer bar your at the cost of the redding.
I would hit the local gunshows. Next few I go to im going to look for green PM's lol.

All I own now is a lee ppm actually a second is in the mail too. I have had no issues I just make sure to clean it after use.
I will be getting a redding and prob a rcbs also in future.

im kind of a tool whore

I had a Lee PPM and it was easy to use and set up (and cheap) but it leaked certain types of powder (leaked a lot). My reloading table would be a mess after loading 50-100 rounds.

It was the worst with TiteGroup and with H-335... which are the powders I use 90% of the time.

I dumped it onto eBay, and bought a Lyman powder measure, and it works great.

Used powder measures can be had on eBay... look for an RCBS or Hornady or Lyman.
