 Advice for my press setup

Hi, I have been reading the forum for 3-4 months now and have been slowly shopping craigslist for gear and supplies. I am starting with 223 & 45 and will eventually be doing 44, 9mm & 30-06

I decided to use (and found) a 4-hole lee classic turret. I am building 99% plinking loads and was thinking about getting the Lee Pro Auto Disk powder measurer to mount on the turret. Should I think about upgrading to something better? Suggestions?

Also I hear about people getting a depriming die and depriming/resizing separately so they can deprime before they clean. I would think you would be able to just turn the depriming rod down lower so you don't engage the resizing part of the die. Is this possible or does the die geometry not allow it? Or do you run the risk of breaking the depriming rod with it out that far?

Finally on my 223 reloading turret, since I am depriming and resizing single stage off of the main turret, I think I am only using 3 holes: Bell & Powder drop, bullet Seating & FCD. Is there something useful I can add to the 4th hole since I have to pull the handle for it anyway? Do they make a bullet feeder die for 223? I have only seen pistol ones. How about a Powder Level/Double Check die? I have seen them on youtube but don’t know if they are just a gimmick.

Thanks for the info!

The only reason to deprime before tumbling is if you are wet tumbling.

If you are dry tumbling, don't bother.

Then by all means deprime before tumbling and enjoy the spotless primer pockets.

you can still deprime by using you sizer die and not having to use a depriming die only
