I loaded my first 9mm rounds!!!!!
Well 4 of them. Why only four you ask? Well even after reading numerous warnings on here not to force my LNL AP I forced my LNL AP and broke the left pawl

Midway is out of stock and Hornady is closed until tuesday I would imagine so my fantasy of loading 2k 9mm this weekend is just that fantasy!

Oh well I did learn a lesson and on a positive note the four I loaded ran flawlessly!

This place is a wealth of info if I would just listen. Thanks alot and I hope to be up and running by weeks end!
Jerry

Always have a back up press.
Midway has a Lee single stage for about $27.
What bullet is that?
Looks like Hornady XTP. Maybe in 124 grn.
Hornady 9mm .355 115 gr HP XTP®(free with my press). I am moving to Berry' s plated when I get these loaded......................next week

Oh well I am having minor knee surgery on the 17th and will be home for two weeks so will have plenty of time to load.

Monk is right..You should always have a single stage press in your gear.
Pretty cartridges - congrats on the loads.
My heart grew three sizes this day!

Its on the short list!

Just an FYI... since you know not to force things

... (and now you know why

)...
With my LnL-AP, my 9mm dies happen to be RCBS.
For some reason, every once in a while, a case mouth hits the edge of the sizing die.
Just a nudge with a finger and it goes right in. It only does that with 9mm, so I don't know if it is the
die or the shell plate. I don't use that shell plate for any other caliber, and it only happens with the sizing die.
(of course all the other dies have a wider opening) BUT, if it was the shell plate, I would think I would have
issues priming as well... which I don't.
Just thought I'd mention that on the odd chance the same thing is happening.
This way, if it stops abruptly, you can check that and see if that's the issue before you go nuts trying to
figure out what is going on.
Thanks for the info but I think this was the culprit
Well that and my push it harder theory

. What can I say I was raised on a hog farm by a lead miner, we fixed everything with a bigger hammer!

lesson learned.
Wrong forum.
Part came in yesterday. Put it in when I got off work, had to Make a minor adjustment and its running perfect again. Lesson learned thanks guys.
nice rounds! congrats
Congrats and hope you continue to enjoy the press. They are great. Loads look nice. What's the data on them. My motto is "if it don't fit don't force it". (Unless your dealing with your chick)
Congratulations on your first 9mm reloads! I'm also new to reloading (9mm & 357mags). Maybe 2,000 rounds total. Be safe, and good shooting.

It's usually crap under the retaining lip on the shell plate..at least in my experience. When I run into that issue I stop and blow out powder and whatever has collected in and around the shell plate. Sometimes I have to help the case into the sizing die. There was a member who had a fix for a wobbly top deck too.
