 Damaged case necks

So I am fairly new to reloading. I just got my hands on a batch of once fired Lake City 5.56 brass that I am about to start processing and I noticed a fair portion of the case necks are damaged. Can I use a case neck iron to round the necks out again before resizing? I guess that if I try to resize them without making the necks round again I will just crush the cases?

If they aren't that bad a sizing die will push them open.

If they are really bad use a tapered punch to open them up.

Use a center punch to straighten the necks before sizing. A standard expander ball can straighten small dents, but will crush the neck if the dents are deep.

A second is all that's needed to fix the necks.

Thanks for the input guys. I just went through about 15 pounds of Lake City Brass and the center punch works great. I even got my daughter to help sort the dinged ones!
