will a rcbs shellholder fit a lyman press?
have an older lyman single stage press, can you use other brand shell holders? thanks
What model? how old? Post a pic if you don't know.
Lyman had some odd ball shell holders way back...nowadays most shell holders will work in most presses. If all else fails, try one and see if it fits.

dont really know, purchased it after a buddy of mine passed,all steel has a red plastic grip handle single stage, and a spring loaded primer loader. I bought the dies he had and they were a mixture of rcbs and lyman. it looks probably 20 years old at least. I wanted to start loading 223 and wasnt sure if I had to stick to lyman products for the shellholders
Figure out if dies have a 7/8x14 (standard) thread.
If they do, chanches are that a standard shell holder (any brand) will work.
Can't say for sure without model number or a pic.
I started out with a Lyman Spartan single stage press, it used a standard shell holder and I had several different brands of dies and shell holders, including RCBS.
Call Lyman. If it takes the old Lyman shellholders, they'll have the bushing to convert for about $10.
