I am currently in the process of buying an RFB Bullpup,

I am interested in getting a EOTech for it, I know they make some specifically for .308.

With this is mind what is good model to get? As I would like it to run it on AA batteries.

Any suggestions / Comments Are greatly Appreciated!

Thanks

I really like the 65moa circle with the 1moa dot on the eotech, and I've used them on everything from AR's to shotguns... My biggest gripe with eotech is the battery life and the substandard customer care in regards to service/repairs. They have gotten a lot better in the past year or so with customer service, and overall it's a great optic. The eotech MPO ( optic with flip away magnifier) is a nice set up, as you might want to get a little more distance with a 7.62. One thing to keep in mind is that they sit pretty low to the rail and to see through the optic properly you might need a riser of some sort. Aimpoint is always nice as well if you have a little more to spend, or look at the vortex or Burris optics if your on a budget. I pretty much run Elcans on all of my rifles now, but maybe that's just a Canadian thing.... Not sure

in that last picture, your RFB's suddenly morphed into Tavors. . .

You'll have to look at the EOTech website and their various reticles. Some are set up with the bullet drop for .223 and I'm not certain, but I believe they have reticle options now with bullet drop for .308 in the 552 series.

The only EOTech I own is the XPS2-0 and it is the standard 65 MOA Ring with 1 MOA dot and it is mounted/zeroed for my STG-556 5.56/.223 rifle. I purchased it because a) I like the reticle picture, and b) I felt the XPS was likely to have battery contact issues than the 552 series due to the perpendicular battery placement. After over one year of owning it and a fair amount of use I have experienced no problems with my unit. However, if my STG wasn't geared toward close defensive use and was intended more for intermediate or long range recreational shooting or hunting I'd probably opt for a magnified optic instead. Granted you can purchase various magnifiers to mount behind the EOTech, but in my research I have found that would add more weight than opting for a single magnified optic instead. Too each their own though and if someone wanted to run just an EOTech or an EOTech in combination with a magnifier there is absolutely nothing wrong with that IMO.

I've got a CQT on mine. It has the donut of death, ala the Aug, and it uses a double A battery.

I have the Eotech XPS 2.2 with a 3x FTS magnifier on my RFB as well as the MagPul flip up BUIS. It all fits well on the rail and the battery life of the XPS is much better than the 553 I have. The second dot is 2.8 mil difference, so you will be able to figure 2 zeros, IE; 250m for the top dot, 500m for the bottom... something like that It works out well once set up.
