Bullpup 556 rifles.....tell me about them...
.....guy at the range today let me shoot an AUG.....pretty neat config I thought to myself....
Any reason NOT to get one or a similar rifle?
FNH FS2000. Thread done, question answered.

The really only option if you want current production. Warranty repairs, and parts are all available through FNH USA that's a part of Browning USA.
Then you can get on the FNforum and network with all the other FS2000 owners for all things FN.

Much thanks!......gonna take a look...
Best CQB rifle on the market without getting a pesky tax stamp.

If you like them, then no, not really. Not everyone likes the ergonomics. My main complaints with the AUG have been the difficulty in fitting a bipod, and the trigger, although the trigger hasn't stopped me having good success using one as a target rifle.

Nice trigger available for MSARs and Augs from ratworxusa.com.
Still waiting for the FS2000 version

Love mine...no problems yet....

Yes, good point, they have fixed the trigger. If the AUG starts seeing production for the American market again, aftermarket parts look like they have the potential to become quite varied.

Did I miss the latest news or something?
When did Steyr USA stop supplying parts and offering Warranty repairs for their Aug A3?
Actually, the same rifle that the OP posted about?
Keep checking with Pj's and The Specialist.
Both of them should be getting in and selling well used to Collector grade Augs until the Cows come home.
As far as I know Steyr USA still provides parts and warranty service for the AUG A3.
I'm not sure the exact list of parts that either Browning sells for the FS2000 (used to have a list, but can't find it) or the exact list of parts that Steyr USA sells for the A3 so if it's a parts vs. parts availability thing that will tip your scales either way than you might want to just email or call them for an available parts list with prices. I know that Browning charges an "arm and a leg" for the FS2000 parts they do have.
I've never dealt with FNH Warranty service, but I have dealt with Steyr USA and they've always been helpful and done what I needed without charging me beyond the cost of shipping to them, which I paid myself. The one time I actually had to ship a firearm to Steyr it took a little less than two weeks counting the time for shipping to get back to me. I consider that pretty damn good since years back I had a Bushmaster that took over a month to get back to me.
Of course, there is PJ's for the Steyr and Ratworx as well if you're looking for certain parts. The Steyr website will also sell the stocks for the A3 either NATO or standard directly from their website, but you can get them cheaper through retailers.
Me, I've tried again and again to engage myself with the FS2000 and again and again I find it seriously lacking in a number of departments. It's not a bad rifle, but it's not the rifle for me. Much rather have the AUG design or just put my money into an AR.

Neu Trigger.
Been down the MSAR road. Won't go there ever again. I have an FS2000 in my collection now. Only drawbacks are the ridiculous weight and the thread pitch.
Waiting for Keltec ....
