I know this has been asked but I can't find the damn thread anywhere.

Who are you guys using for CC processing? I was using Inuit until I tried to launch my web site with a the web cart processing and then they said sorry can't do anything with guns or ammo. Would love to know who you are using that KNOWS you sell guns and ammo.

Thanks

First National Merchant Solutions will also handle gun dealers and manufacturers.

FWIW it's not the merchant processor causing problems, it's First Data.

HI Matthew,

Unfortunately, because firearms accessories are associated with the sale of firearms we will not be able to setup the account.

Please re-review our application for a Payment Gateway account. I do not believe that we are in violation of section 2, subsection xiv of your Terms of Use. We do not currently sell firearms in either our retail location or online via our website and we have no plans to do so in the future. Additionally, we are not licensed to sell firearms either by the State of Georgia or the United States government and have no plans to apply for such licenses in the future. We are solely an accessories store that is classified for sales tax purposes as a sporting goods store.

Can you clarify what the issue is with First Data? I have been speaking with a sales rep from First Data regarding a merchant processing account (mainly because they are partnered with my bank, SunTrust, for merchant services). She knows exactly what we are selling (ammo and accessories only, no guns however) and has no issue with it.

First Data will not deal with firearms company, they kicked us off after about 3 years with them

ETA: Authorize.net uses First Data as its processor, which is why you got the no-go from them.

Gun dealer typically use either Payment Alliance International or First National Merchant Services.

I am after my Interview and approved for my FFL 07 and awaiting my actual license, so I started reading these threads a bit.

I have been using Intuit for about 6 months now selling just AR Uppers.

I did call and ask prior to signing up and basically the guy told me to just say I was selling sporting goods equipment.

Well, I screwed up somewhere along the way and said my end game was going to be getting into firearm sales and such.

The application process took about 2 weeks to get approved, but after many "Assurance/Compliance" Acknowledgments I had to agree to in regards to the sale of firearms, I was approved and have been using their payment gateway.

I did use a Open Source cart though. I made the site with Joomla and am using a VirtueMart shopping cart. So basically for Intuit, the sales are all represented as "3rd Party" processing.

I ended up using Transfirst for my processing. Decent rate and they don't care that I am a small time mom and pop. Plus they support my shopping cart.

It could be a conflict of First Data policy to process CC transactions that involve firearms across state lines... or sales via the internet.

My local bank set me up with CC processing and that goes through First Data. The bank manager and Credit Merchant Services rep were both in my store prior to opening the account. I haven't had a lick of trouble with them either. I don't have an online store. All CC processing for firearms is handled in store and FTF.

We were setup by the local bank and the manager did all the work etc... but we had a single over the counter transaction that they suspected was a problem they cut us off and held those funds for a few weeks..... gotta love it. Thankfully Payex took care of it all and got us up and running same day.

My bank offered the same thing through a 3rd party vendor, i was assured there would be no problem. When i pointed out that in their TOS firearm sales were prohibited they couldn't give me an answer.

I went with PAI, so far everything has been trouble free, decent rates, cheap equipment.
