Waiting on the BATFE.....
I am in my 7th week of waiting for my on site interview set-up phone call. I have a store, a lease and a whole bunch of quotes for services from everybody you can think of waiting in the wings for my phone call.
I just received my CCDW permit renewal and did a credit check. spotless credit and high score so I am sure there is no identity issues, same for the CCDW.
I recently received this email alert from the NSSF:
"ATF Buyouts Could Slow Licensing Process
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has announced that its impending staffing cuts will likely slow down its processing of firearm and explosive license applications. Any potential slowdown in the license-application process could disrupt the lawful commerce of firearms –– a major concern for industry. NSSF is taking this threat seriously and is in regular communication with ATF on this issue."
I hear the interview set-up phone call comes in the 8 - 10 week window. Am I correct on that? My application has been in the pipeline for over 7 weeks before the NSSF thing came out so I am hoping I am far enough along in the process to not get caught up in the situation stated above.
What have others encountered?
Not quite the same, but maybe relevant?
I'm 2 months past pending on a Form 4 submission. The last time I submitted one (8 months ago - before the staffing changes) they told me the wait time was 2-3 months, and I got the stamp back in 2 months.
I called yesterday on this new pending one, and they told me the wait time is now 5 months.
Thats really depressing. I have TWO form 4's in the pipeline also for over 7 weeks, for a pair of cans through my trust. 5 MONTHS, CRAP!!!!!!
The Form 4 for my SBR was sent up around Feb, took about 5 months to come back. The Form 4 for my suppressor was sent up in early May and I'm still waiting for it

You guys are killing me. Are those form 4's through a trust or individual with finger print cards and CLEO letters?

Our onsite was about 20 days from the time the application was officially in the system. Once the app is officially in the system, ATF has 60 days to act on it.
You need to call the FFLC and find out what's going on. If they are no help, get your case number (future FFL#) and find out what field office it is assigned to. Then contact them. Go up the chain from there. 8 weeks is excessive and outside of the statutory 60 day limit.

What does "Officially in the System" mean. The BATFE took the money out of my account 7 weeks ago. About how long can it take from that day to get "Officially in the System?"
Any contact numbers would be a BIG help.

Mine is a trust.
I had a Form 1 for an SBR and a Form 4 for a suppressor come back in 2 months. But that was then. Things have changed, staffing has been reduced, and the wait times appear to have doubled.

It could take 4-5 days to be "offical" after they take your money. I think ours was 3.
FFL Licensing Center - (866) 662-2750
Give them either your EIN or SSN, and they'll be able to look up your application status. There could be a problem with the application, prints, etc that for some reason they haven't notified you about. If it's been sent to the field office, they'll tell you and should tell you which field office and group is handling your app. If they don't, ask them for the information and call the field office.
I might call.
My interview was 5 weeks from the date they received my app (mail tracking)
My license didn't come in the mail till 5 weeks after the interview.
Mike in MN
I called and talked to an agent in Martinsburg, or what ever. She allowed how the APP was in my local office here in Louisville since Oct 7th. I called the local office and a VERY nice agent asked me for the case number. Upon hearing the case number she said, So you are in Casey County. I said "No I am in Bullitt County." To which she said the coding on the case number put my store in Casey County (Kentucky, By tHe Way). I told her that was incorrect and asked if that was a problem and she said No this is a typical mistake. They, and everybody else, was having internet problems that day.
I call the next day and she said that the mistake was corrected and that they never had the APP. Now they do and she was VERY sorry for the problems. Said I was looking good and she was going to ask her supervisor is she could expedite the app.
Told me I could hear something concrete with in 2 to 4 weeks.
I will keep you all posted.

Good thing you called. 2-4 weeks is going to put them outside of the 60 day window. I'd keep rattling the cage. It's not like it takes a lot of time/effort in most locations for an IOI to check zoning, HOA, and come out to do the rules talk. At this point, your prints have already come back clean, etc.
Also, your "case number" will end up being the first 3 digits and last 5 digits of your FFL# if/when it's issued.
I just saw the latest post and realized I had not posted an update here.
Had my on site on Tuesday. Went GREAT!!!!! My IOI said that they were "Expediting" my license and get in my hand within 3 weeks. IOI said if it wasn't then I was to call her and she will "Crawl up their asses" to get it to me asap!!
I have 5 weeks worth of work to do, in 3 weeks. SHIT!!!
Good news!
