Aquisition and disposition when gunsmithing...
I understand when something needs and needs not be logged but wanted clarification on this...
If I am returning a firearm that I worked on to the owner/same person who brought it to me, do I still need to log their DOB and license number?
It is easy enough when it is a sale but on a gunsmithing item it seems odd, and almost offensive, to ask those questions.
I usually only log address information when it's coming from and going out by mail or common carrier.
I log in walk-ins as "Name, in person", and log them out as "returned to owner". My compliance inspectors have been fine with that usage.
