Do the 556 classic rifles come with a red dot and a bolt on diopter rear sight, or just the red dot? Or is there another model that includes just the bolt on diopter rear sight and no red dot?

Yes.
I think the old ones came with no rear sight then there was a promotional with the red dot and mine came with the diopter.
