Sig 522 BDM mag problem Lots of FTFeed (video)
Is anybody else having issues with their BDM sig issued mags? I'm having FTFeed, a lot of them, with lots of diferent ammo, clean gun dirty gun, it doesn't matter. I think it's a weak spring, bad follower angle issue. I came up with this video after like 3 minutes searching online for this same problem. Not my video, this is someone else having exactly the same issue I'm having.
Frustrating and apparently I'm not alone.
Failure to feed Black Dog mags
I'm in Argentina. The "call black dog magazines, they will make it right for you" thing does not apply to me.
I had similar problems and I did 3 things to fix it. First, I took the mag apart and smoothed the rough edge of the follower. Second, I quit leaving my magazines full and ready to go. Instead, I only load them when I go to the range and, I only use CCI mini mags or subsonics. Let us know what you find that fixes the problem.
I, too, also took my mags apart and cleaned up the followers and the feed lips. I haven't had an issue with leaving them loaded tho. Haven't shot it in about 6 months so that procedure may change.
Onybody else having these feeding issues?
Are they the new style mags with replaceable feed lips?
Nope, but I don't think it would make any difference it they were. It looks like it's a problem on the angle of the follower and the strength of the mag spring. I've modified one of the mags, to see it I can get it to work properly. Going to report back here with an AAR and a detailed list of the mods I did to them mags as soon as I get to try them.
My new style BDM mags had issues. They made new followers for them and sent me a couple. The mags have been working like they should now.
Mine works great, as do my Spikes marked BDM mags. They are the 2nd Gen (full body, integrel feed lips).
I've changed a little bit the angle on the followers, 600 rounds later, ZERO issues. Im pleased
I believe however the mag springs are still on the 'weak' side from the factory, so even if my mags are working fine right now, Im considering getting same lenght, 'stronger' springs.
I purchased some 522 mags from Sig and out of 6 I had 4 mags I had to send back due to that issue. If you have a warranty with the magazines I would send them back instead of mucking around with them.
Let them fix those magazines and try to get yourself a new batch from the company.

Agreed. Read my first post in this thread thoroughly. It would be too much hassle to do that from where I am at the moment.
Thankfully I was able to fix them and they are now working as they should.
Just noticed your location. I just received my magazines back from Sig and all four where replaced with new functional magazines.
Glad you got your magazines working.
Does anybody have a pic of the new followers? Did they also change the springs or just the followers? Do new functional mags look any different?
