Live rounds don't eject from the gun all the time. The extractor doesn't grab the rim much at all, and slips off the case sometimes, and it also doesn't kick them out of the gun very reliably.

Quick fix for this?

Remington, I'll never buy another gun from you. Between the AAC problems and this "Marlin".... Thank god FN stepped their game up and is using the M70 receiver.

Good thing there are a lot of used Marlins out there. It's the only way to buy one these days.

It's no wonder they have so many new style guns out or coming out. Have to keep people interested.

Man, finding a used Marlin 1895 is.... Next to impossible, and the owners of these rifles know they can get a premium.

I just got back from the range, it ejects/extracts the fired rounds fine...

I think the factory 405JSP's from Remington may be on the long side for my rifle, but they fed flawlessly, spent rounds ejected/etracted fine, and the rifle is very accurate. I had no problems zeroing the rifle, or grouping.

It was shooting about 14 inches low at 100 and 6 inchs left... Now its shooting dead on at 100 yards, but still 6 inches to the left.

Whats the easiest way to drift the front sight to get it zero'd in properly?

I just bought a Marlin guide gun last week, made in 1998 that was still new in the box. Owner had a new Remlin guide gun right beside. I looked at both of them really close. I now know why
people have been saying to buy a real Marlin. It was like 2 totally different guns.

I have seen some aweful examples of them for sure. I buddy that owns a gunshop was showing me a couple he wouldn't even put on the shelf (they were being sent back to Marlin). Totally crooked sights, and one had stock damage (a considerable amount).

Thankfully, I think this one will work out alright, just a new ejector for a measure of insurance.

I drifted my rear sight in it's dovetail.

The rear doesnt appear to have a dovetail, only the front... Perhaps using a punch would be my best bet?

My 1985's rear sight is fastened to a dovetail for sure. It's at the front of the sight leaf.
