Check out this pic from Gunblast.com. Taylor has some handgun lever actions. I like that "Terminator" lever shotgun!

Several manufacturers are making mares legs now. Taylors just rebrands them. The scatterguns probably came from Norinco, and are rebranded. They are good quality and I have a full stocked 20" version. The consultant that helped them with quality control (Coyote Cap) played an instrumental part in this.
What I would wonder is how the scatterguns are pistols and not AOW or SBS? Is the definition over 26" or is it longer?

That is a huge tube for a .44. It would weigh a ton.
I'll pass, the whole mare's leg thing seems like a retarded idea.

I agree. Its not even a logical option if you were going to SBR a lever gun. No optic platform, stock set, and you still have to dissemble, thread, and clearance the mag tube.
Here's the "Terminator" lever action on Chiappa's website. I guess Taylor imports them. It has an 18.5" barrel, so it's not an AOW.
I believe it'll be around $1,000. ouch!
I think it's cool as hell.

Reminds me of the bounty hunter in "Raising Arizona"
