I have a friend that has a mech tech glock 17. Now he needs something to hold his 30 round magazines. Any GOOD ideas?

It can be hard to find ones that work well. A lot of the ones designed for subguns such as the Uzi are too short or too long to fit properly.

These are the best pouches for the Glock extended mags that I have found so far. They are adjustable and are molle compatible.

I hear the surplus uzi mag holder works perfect and can be had for like 4 bux.

The 3 cell canvas Uzi pouches that are everywhere right now won't close with the G17 33rd mags. The mags are just a bit too big for them. If you don't care about closing the flap, then they will work.
All of the surplus pouches I have tried were either too long or too short for the 33rd Glock mags.
Except for this one that is.
5-cell Czech Pouch

The 33rd mags actually fit perfectly in it.

I have one of these that I've used for years and works well...

... but I'm going to have to order and try one of the similar ACE pouches linked above –– I have a few of their rifle cases and have been happy with them (plus it's a bit cheaper than the Galati).

I have a Blackhawk SAS 4 cell SMG pouch. It goes on your thigh and was like tailor made for Glock mags. I bought it on clearance at a gun shop and haven't seen one since. I have some old surplus spanish SMG 3 cell pouches that work great too. They are like 3.00 when you can find them....

I did a lot of research and found lots of mag pouches that are suppose to work with the 33rd glock mags. The cheapest one was $1.95each for a 3 cell magazine pouch. Anything that fits MP5 30 rd mags or Uzi 32 round mags, colt smg, should work! Be careful, some uzi pouches are for 25 rd mags!

That one looks perfect! I wish I had known about it before I bought the one from CTD.
In my experience, the military pouches designed specifically for the 32rd Uzi mags are usually just a hair too tight for the G18 33rd mags. The mags fit in the pockets, but the flaps won't close. ymmv of course.

Just a heads up:

Tony is a great guy and his products and customer service are top notch!

He aslo does custom work if you have something in mind, and cannot find it anywhere.

I've never handled a 33-round Glock mag so I'm not sure how long they are, but this tactical tailor pouch from Grey Ghost might work. I bought a few for 30-round M-1 carbine magazines and if your wife rips the seam for you, they work perfect. Glock magazines would be about the same diameter as MP5 mags, so you shouldn't need to alter it. OTOH, I don't know if a 33-round 9mm mag will fit in a pouch designed for 20-round 9mm mags. For $10 they're a heck of a buy, though.

For $6.95, I don't see a reason not to get it anyway
