It seems certain that I have a magazine issue here, but I was curious if others had the same problem. It runs fine with Beretta 10 (that came with it) and 15 rounders, but it's choking on my Mec-Gar 20 rounders. The stoppages look like a 1911 stovepipes. Approximately 20% of the time, the rear of the cartridge falls below the bolt face and the bolt jams the round upward. All three of the Mec-Gar's are doing this at about the same number of occurrences per magazine.
These Mec-Gars are 18 rounders with the "plus 2" attachment on the bottom. They are marked M9, Mec-Gar, and Made in Italy.
I thought these were supposed to be the best, so it's unlikely I have three dud mags. It's also clear that the carbine works fine with the other magazines...never another stoppage of any kind. Any ideas here?
Load them up and let the magazines sit for a few days...

They've been sitting full for over 6 months. Thank you for the suggestion though.
The thing is, I really thought I had run them when I bought them. Normally, I run a mag through a time or two before I put it in the safe to trust it. I guess I need to keep better records. However, I do know that
if I had run them, they ran perfectly the first time through. These were the first malfunctions I've had in my Storm.
The only other variable is ammunition. I just bought a bunch of boxes of Speer lawman for 9 bucks a box. Is lawman more underpowered than WWB? Maybe they won't run / feed properly in these mags. I'll continue to test....

I have read of similar problems with Lawman and the CX4. Someone said it is because Lawman is loaded to mimic the recoil and impact point of golden sabers and that it is optimized for short barrels, therefore it causes problems in the long barreled CX4.

That's interesting. The more I think about it, the more I'm certain I ran those three mags with wwb (without incident) when I first purchased them. I hope you're right because I really don't want to have $100 worth of mags I can't use reliably. I'll run some wwb and some federal tomorrow to see if there's any difference. Thank you for the information; I really appreciate it.
Updated....apparently it was somehow the lawman ammunition. My 20 round Mec-Gar's run wwb and federal perfectly. Zero malfunctions in the three magazines with both types of ammunition. I guess I should have known to check the ammo but what's surprising is that the lawman only fouls up in the 20 rounders. Strange. WWB and Federal are easier to find anyway....
Thank you all...I love arfcom.
