Any opinions on the Taurus CT45G2M?
I've never bought anything from Taurus before, but this piques my interest. Its on pages 12 and 13 of this catalog.

Here's a pic

Just going by the looks,I hate it.Proprietary mags are a real deal killer.
The design looks like they've cobbled together several HK designs but poorly executed on the final product. Based on the overall design, the proprietary magazines and Taurus' quality challenges in the past, I'd be hard pressed to seriously consider purchasing one.

Same here.
I've had very good service from a variety of Taurus semi-autos, so the make doesn't give me pause at all... but I have zero interest in adopting another magazine platform at this stage of the game.
If it took any of the standard pistol/SMG mags that are readily available/affordable, I'd have to have one.
I wanted to like this rifle when I first heard of it but time is passing. I have yet to actually pick one up and get a sense of the feel of it. Then there is this magazine issue. Why can't it use Beretta 92 mags. They are everywhere....and I have a pile of them. Any 9mm carbine is going to require lots of magazines to keep her fed. Then there is the weight of this thing. I read that its heavy. I want to hold one first and see the weight and balance of it. Those things all matter.
If there is a definition of a Frankenstein gun, that's it.
It is ugly as sin.
Needs to work on the looks department!
ugly and the mags kill it for me.
I actually like the looks of it. However, I'm going to agree that failing to design it around existing pistol magazines (especially if it was forgiving enough to use both the Taurus 92 and Beretta 92 magazines) was a poor grasp of the US market, civilian *and* LEO. I don't know much about the European market, but I'd be willing to bet that there are plenty of Euro LEO departments that use Beretta 92s or Glocks, and as such might take an interest in a rifle that uses the same magazine. The St. Louis Metro Police use the Beretta CX4 for that reason (even if the officers don't like using a 9mm rifle).
So, in the end, while I like the look of it, when it's discontinued in a few years, not only will those be proprietary magazines, they'll also be hard ones to find.

Amen....have seen this before.....and we all know that a firearm without magazines is just a paper weight gathering dust. I saw a great deal on an Erma .22 M-1 carbine last month. Problem was, no magazine came with it. Those mags can be found but at over $50 EACH for a questionable after market mag...well...not me.
If they made them like the taurus carbines they make for LEO applications with a 16 inch barrel, then I might consider it............I dont care for that one
Why is it so heavy?
9.25 pounds...
