Modify Bulgarian Barrel to fit Polish Tantal?
My newest project is to build a Polish Tantal... problem is this came without barrel as most of you know, I was able to finally find a Bulgarian barrel, there are differences in the diameters of the barrel at the points where the FSB, gas block, and trunion press fit on, as well as the the cross pins being on the opposite sides of the barrel as the other was designed.
What I'm looking at is turning down the area under the FSB 0.005", I need to turn the area where the gas block sits down about 0.013", and the area under the rear sight block about .025" If I were to thread it for the flash hider I would need to cut left hand metric threads, The gas port appears to be off about 1/8" as well, can I slot the gas port in the gas block?
What would be a good pressfit tolerance to aim for? As near as I can tell the barrel to trunnion fit is about a 0.001" interferance fit, is this tight enough?
Any suggestions about how to go about this guys?
