Mosin Nagant Target Barrel
Hey guys,
I am kind of new to the forum, and have little experience in gun smithing. I have been looking online at different parts kits: such as, a FAL, or RPD. That being said, since I have no experience, and limited income I have been unwilling to undertake such a project. However, I did find a project that I think I might be able to handle. On classicarms.us they have M91/30's for $75. They also have UK59 barrels that have been re-profiled and threaded for all variations of nagant receivers for $75. They also have stripped nagant receivers (that they say the heavy barrels fit perfectly into without any modifications)for $30. But if you buy the barrel and the receiver together its $100. The great thing about buying the receiver would be that I wouldn't have to mess with getting the old barrel out of the old receiver, along with not wasting a perfectly good gun. The only thing I can foresee being a problem with this would be finding a stock that the barrel would fit in. That being said, a halfway decent stock with belt sander taken to it might do the trick. I have seen some awesome builds like this online, and figure it might be worth a shot. Any Suggestions, or things I should know before I start this?
If I had the talent/money I would want it to be something like this. vvvvv

My Mosin has always shot straight and true without any modification. YMMV
