I know this has been done in the past before. However has anyone done it here? I have some questions and some ideas that I want to bounce off fellas who have made this conversion before.

Lots of discussions about custom mausers over on AccurateReloader.com. You can find a lot of good info there. If you can do the work yourself it can be a great project. If you are going to pay someone to do the work, you will probably be ahead money wise to start with commercial action.

My only mauser experience is building a 35 Whelen on an Argentine 1909 action and a 308 on a Yugo.

Thanks for the heads up. I will go check that place out. I do have commercial actions and the means to do the work myself. My question was in regards to the lengthening of the feed lip areas and feed ramp. 35 Whelen is a superb round and good choice!
