Optic for the new Remmy 700 5R in 308
I am looking hard at the SWFA Super Sniper 10x42 HD. Any suggestions? Not willing to spend tons of money on this as I am just a hobby shooter.

This glass goes on the Rem 5R. I do want decent glass. Not that the Bushnell is not decent. But not quite what I want. I know I can spend lots on optics, but the SS HD gets rave reviews and I have owned the standard SS 10X and it rocks.
I have a 5-20 SSHD and absolutely love it. For a bit more cash, or about the same amount of cash (if you bought used), you could get into a Vortex Viper PST. Could not go wrong there, either.

Yes..I should check out the PST. I have the illuminated 1-4 Viper PST on my AR-10 and I love it.
I just ordered this one off medwayuse also on sale for $149. Nice budget scope.

I have a 5-20 SSHD as well on my 5-R and I'm happy with the quality of the scope in that price range (~$1000).
I have seen folks blogging about a new Viper HS Tactical that is 5-15x44 with a mildot reticle, 1/10 mil adjustments, and what appear to be PST turrets, on sale at Midway for 399.00. I don't know much about it personally, but here is a link to check it out.
