Anyone know why Tikka is not importing any more?
For the T3 Varmint they are only importing the 223 and 22-250. Anyone know why? I emailed Beretta and they wouldn't say why.
Because they're owned by Beretta. For one of the world's oldest gun makers, they sure don't seem to know much about running a business, nor all the smaller companies they gobble up. You gotta remember Beretta runs their business at two speeds; 1) slow, and 2) stop. Someday, we might see the entire Tikka line-up here in the States
In the meantime, feel free to shop their extensive collection of calf skin leather while you wait.

LOL. Well we can get the Tikka T3 scout CTR in 308. It looks like a mix between the varmint and tactical.
Personally, I really like the
T3 Sporter. They're a bit pricy, but if you compare it with buying a factory Tikka, and then dropping it in a full-blown Manners/McMillan stock, these rifles are very competitively priced.
This gently used model should be of particular interest to someone wanting a Tikka
Those shoes would look real nice after the first day of shooting prone with my toes on the ground.

Not a huge fan of wood stocks. Looks like they renamed the 595 sporter. But all Tikkas are the same action right?

Yes, the same action, which is a long action. I read they simply add different spacers to the magazines, and use different bolt stops for the shorter cartridges.

I know on my 308 varmint when I had a Manners stock put on and a CDI BM they had to grind off part of the bolt stop/release to allow to the bolt to go back farther. They took off like a 1/4". Atleast all being the same action I will be able to just buy a 308 and rebarrel it to a heavy barrel and different caliber. I love my Tikka.
I read that all you need to do is buy different bolt stops. The magnum bolt stop would allow the most bolt travel.
To me, a 6.5x55 loaded long, long, long with 140g VLDs would be just about perfect. Having the longer action is perfect for the long-range VLD style bullets
I just bought a T3 in 06 It is a great
That is all :)

I never looked at different stops. The 6.5x55 is one I want to build.
From what I have heard is that over the years Beretta keeps changing on how they sell guns. They go from distributor only, to dealer direct online with a minimum purchase and back to distributor only. Now they are both. They are trying to get the most amount of money they can but in doing so screws everyone from buying the full line of guns.

Don't places understand if they would offer the full line of guns they would make more money. Makes no sense to me.

That's the setup I want to put together for a hunting rifle. I truly believe out of all factory rifles Tikka makes the most accurate smoothest rifle. And pics are always wanted.

with the best group of reloads...
Cooling off between sets of loads
She consistently makes 1 inch or smaller groups.... with the next batch and a little less twiching i should be able to make all 5 touch.
Full specs:
T3 Lite 30-06
Zeiss Conquest 4.5-14... z-plex with hunting turrets
DNZ 1 piece mount
Turner Saddlery "Police" national match 1907 sling (just a black 1907 sling with numbered holes)
Good shooting. Couldn't think of a better backstop
