BattleComp or Spikes DynaComp on 10.5 SBR?

I've read reports of comparable results on 14.5 and 16" barrels, but I haven't seen much on SBRs. What's everyone using and how do you like it?

Have you ever shot either one? I have limited experience with the BC 1.0 on my 10.5", but I honestly did not like it. It worked well as far as muzzle rise, but the concussion made it uncomfortable to shoot. 10.5" SBRs are loud, but the BC made it uncomfortable because I could feel it rattling my sinuses. It's nothing but flash hiders for me.

Hopefully, someone will be able to give yo a more in-depth response.

The Battle Comp will help with recoil (or whatever fancy term they are using for it these days) but you will get a little bit more blast with it. For me its worth the trade off, but I'm not stacking up and kicking doors down in a team environment. The BC is good at what it does and is made by an outstanding company.

I have a BC on my carbine and I really like it. I took it off and put it on the SBR and am going shooting this weekend. So we'll see how it goes. I have no experience with the DynaComp. If the BC is ridiculously loud, I may just stick with a flash suppressor.

A BC on a 10 inch is a little "rude" to shooters that are shooting within a few feet on the left.or right of you but its not too bad. i would rather have the better "back on target" times to be able to make good follow-up shots than to be a little noisy. i don't notice the concussion while shooting it but i do when other guys shoot it (and love it). i have not shot any other comps so not sure how valid my review is.

I have the BC 2.0 on a 12" and about every time I shoot, I get comments from folks about how loud it is or how they can feel it.... But then they shoot it and giggle like a school girl...

I shot another comparable length and weight AR that had a Butstock (mines setup as a pistol) that had a Flash hider vs the Brake and there is a serious difference in Muzzle Jump... I dig it... If I was to switch it out, I think I'd go for the Surefire MB556....

Anyone try a troy claymore MB on a 11.5?

Well, I'm taking the SBR with the BC to an indoor range today to rezero my Aimpoint with a new ADM mount, so we'll see how bad it is and how many rude looks I get. I may stick with the A2 or some other flash hider. Thanks guys.

I have been curious about the Dyna comp. Obviously the BC is good at what it does, but I have never heard very much about the Dynacomp. It looks to have a similar design as the BC, but its almost half the $$$. I dont know if I'm willing to spend $89 on a Dyna comp just to hate it and turn right around and spend $150 more to get a BC.

If anybody has ever shot a Dynacomp let it be known. How do you like it?

I have a BC 1.0 on my 11.5". I've made people leave the lanes near me at an indoor range. Outside its fine. Slightly louder than an A2 but really helps with muzzle rise especially with an SBR.

EDIT: Haven't used the dynacomp personally but have shot with a few people that own one. They love it. Same impulse as a BC but throws huge flames, every shot.

Didn't you shoot the Spikes' prototype rifles at the Haley class we took? I know they have the Compressor and at least 4-5 other rifles there that people got to demo. I only got to shoot the 14.5" in full auto and to me, they pretty much feel the same performance wise to the BC. I have a 14.5" with BC that I was using for the class for comparison. If there is a difference, it's minimal.

Ridiculously loud and extremely bright. Luckily I was the only one there, so nobody got pissed. I think I'll stick with a flash suppressor. I'll be buying a can for it at some point anyway. You're from the St. Louis area, right? I took it to On Target in Valley Park.

I shot mine indoors to zero at 25 (so i would be close enough to qual) and it wasn't bad. its noticeable but not bad. even one guy was against it until he shot it!!!

(I posted this elsewhere, but still applies)

For the love of God, DO NOT put a BattleComp on a 10.5"! BTDT, and it's like getting punched...wait, make that kicked...in the head if you shoot near any barricade (wall, ground, barrel, car, door-frame, etc.). The concussion is horrible (made my head hurt and eyes bulge) and will affect anyone nearby as well. Seriously. Not to mention loud as hell. I have a vortex on my 10.5 and it is good to go. It originally had an AAC 51T Blackout and I ditched it to get rid of the "ping." I also have run a LeVang on the 10.5 gun and loved it. But I just could not keep it tight (LeVang's lack wrench flats and are a bitch to tighten) so I went to the BattleComp very briefly. Like as in two mags and done.

I realize that the BattleComp was designed by cops, but it is not for CQB on SBRs, IMO
