Hey guys,

I'm considering getting a Stag Arms 11.5" upper for my SBR. I saw one at the local shop, and fit and finish is pretty nice. Comes with BCG and Charging handle, and the bolt and barrel are both MPI/MPT marked, the FSB if F-marked, and everything seems to be mil-spec. I can get it for $475.

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with these. My SBR is just a range toy, and I have my 12 gauge for HD.

I am kinda tight on money right now because I'm saving up for when I ETS out of the Army, so I can't really do a BCM or LMT upper at the moment.

My only experience with stag was a 16" upper, 2 actually. Both were very accurate and reliable. I'd say go for it. Mine were 1/9 twist rates too, that is 1/7. I didn't check the second one, but the gas key staking on the first one wasn't "proper". That is always something you can upgrade eventually.

Since ur tight on money maybe try one of these. The DSarms is only $275. You can get a nice BCG for about $100 and a charging handle for around $30. That saves about $100 in comparison to the Stag.

Well, I got the Stag upper.

The Stag upper was clearly test-fired from the factory, and everything was top-notch. The extractor had an o-ring and such, and the bolt and barrel are marked "HP/MP", along with the F-marked front sight post. Barrel is a 1/7 twist.

Overall, I'm VERY satisfied with the upper. Upon closer research, supposedly these SBR uppers come from Stag's LE division, which supposedly takes extra care of them. Based on its performance today, I'd believe it. I had no issues whatsoever, except having the ground underneath me shake due to the muzzle break. I'm pretty sure this thing is louder than a Barrett.

Here's the upper I'm going with. It's a 1 x 9 twist so I can shoot my 55 grain FMJ's out of it without an issue.

It's 405.00 for everything minus a rear sight. Upgrade to the chrome lined barrel then your looking at 450.00
