Just read in one of these topics that on the form 1 that the OAL is with the stock extended not colapsed. Is this correct? If so back to the drawing board.

I read that as well recently. I am 9 SBR stamps into this game at this point and am fairly certain that I have understated my OAL on every one of my AR SBRs (5). WTH! In any case I will do #6 the prescribed way.

OAL is measured with any collapsible stocks fully extended and with any non-permanent muzzle devices removed.
You can also find it in the NFA handbook.

No where does it state that your OAL must be with the stock extended. This is all i can find in the Handbook: The length of the
barrel is to be entered, in inches, in Block 4(e) and the overall length of the firearm is to be entered, in
inches, in Block 4(f). Can someone tell me where to look to verify this.

As I cited in another thread on this issue previously:
The overall length of a firearm is the distance between the muzzle of the barrel and the rearmost portion of the weapon measured on a line parallel to the axis of the bore.

If your weapon has a collapsible stock and it is not fully extended, then you are not measuring to the rearmost portion of the weapon.
If the OP's original Form 1 weapon is an AR, add 19" to barrel length. A 10.5" barreled upper would list 29.5" on the Form 1.

I emailed the ATF on this and they told me OAL lenght with the stock extended, is what they are looking for...
Yep measure with stock fully extended for overall length.
