Anyone know the era that these parts were made? I just opened the pkg and i am delighted at the condition of everything. Also how can I identify the barrel or does it matter? the only marks i could see are R102 on the flats by the receiver threads and the letter B on the opposite side.
Thanks,
BVH

Here's a thread link to buyers of sarco kits. You might find the answers you're looking for there?

The most widely accepted story about the Sarco kits is that they were manufactured as complete rifles for export, but before they could be shipped, the law governing either their export or import changed and it made the shipping of complete rifles illegal. The rifles were disassembled and imported as parts and barreled uppers. It is my understanding that the barreled uppers were sold to a separate vendor than were the rest of the parts.
These kits are not military surplus. They were made specifically for the civilian market.
As far as when they were made, my best guess would be in the early to mid 1990's.

I may well do that.
Thanks.
+1 on joining the Fal Files. I've been there since 2006. There's no better forum to learn all about the FAL rifle.
The Argentine kits are very nice, buy'em while ya can cause once they're gone i doubt you'll see any new condition kits. The parts were made on the same machines that make the Argentine military rifles to the same specs and as stated above were intended to be imported as complete rifles.
I picked up a sarco Argy type 4 kit today, and registered on FALfiles as well.
As soon as an administrator approves my account, and I receive my kit, I'll post up the numbers so they can be added.
Next payday, I'll probably pick up another kit if there are any left...I think I got bit by a FALbug.
