 Adjusting stock length?

I have owned a Steyr built FAL for nearly 30 years. It has synthetic stock. I would like to shorten it a little bit. I have seen British L1A1's with spacers in the stock to adjust length of pull. Does anyone know where to pick up parts, and will they fit my Steyr FNFAL? .

I believe the Israeli light barrel stock is the shortest FAL stock available.

In order to use an L1A1 stock, you would have to remove the metric pattern lower receiver assembly that is on your rifle now, and replace it with a complete inch pattern lower receiver assembly. Doing this is a simple matter of removing the hinge pin, removing the current lower assembly, putting the inch pattern assembly in it's place, and reinstalling the hinge pin. Then take the rear sight assembly off of the metric pattern lower and put it on the inch pattern lower. Done!
Once this swap is made, you can use the inch pattern stock and spacers.
