H&k SL8 with Barnaul, Bullet hit sideways
Hello all,
My friend have a H&K SL-8 with stabilisation problems, He have recently tried
the Barnaul 55gr Hollowpoints and Barnaul 62gr FMJ but both the 55gr and the 62gr
hit sideways on the target at 100 yards, I can imagine that a low powered 62gr
can hit sideways but when the 55gr also do that it sounds like
there is some problem with the barrel.
He have also tried MIL 62gr SS109 and gets +2 inch groups at 100 yards.
The rifle is in like new condition and have not been abused in any way.
Have anyone else here had the same problem with Barnaul ammunition
in the SL-8?
All help with this is highly apprecieated
Best regards,
Magnus
Try some other 55 grain non-Russian ammunition.
Not many problems with Russian ammo in my experience.
Maybe have a competent smith check the crown on the barrel. Could also be a fouled barrel.
check barrel tightness, I think spec is 60ft lbs, (don't know the NM conversion)
also check tightness of the scope rail screws, should be 28 inch pounds iirc.
