Is everything crap other than German?

If not what do you recommend and where is the best/ cheapest place to get them?

For the $$, the ATI (Korean) mags are great.

I was leary of the Korean mags at first, but now own a dozen of them. They all function flawlessly. Can be purchase from a number of vendors at about $16.00 to $17.00 each. Stock up!

I have 10 mags I purchased from hkparts. They all work perfect in my Dakota Tactical.

I use some of both - German & Korean. My Korean ATI mags have worked great both semi & full auto in a variety of German & clone guns.
There are several generations of the S. Korean mags and some have reported issues with the earlier gen mags.

Personally the only problem I've had was the mag catch locking up properly using the ATI mags in a Coharie gun. After some mag catch break-in time the ATI's now lock up and seem fine in that gun also.

How are the straight mags? Worth $30/ea?

The straights were a great deal when they sold for $13 each. The only issue I've had with straights is shooting cast lead bullets, I use a different mold now and no more problems. I've never tried hollow points thru them but FMJ's feed fine.
You can damn near buy 2 of the Korean mags for $30 so that's where my money would be spent.

I have half a dozen of the ATI metal mags and Korean mags. All work flawlessly.

True, just thinking

A. I like the look of the straight mags
B. The straight mags say HK

But I appreciate your input and will probably follow your advice.

Tactical Innovations and Cole Distributing both have them, but they're probably POF mfg.

I bought two of the newest generation Korean mags and both will fumble the last round about a 3rd of the time in my HK94. Too bad since they fit my gun like they were custom made for it.
