Hey all, I have a couple of the MKE AT94K/P pistols I was looking to convert to the Navy-style lowers. I don't really like the current grip/selector switches. I have to admit I'm not super familiar with the HK platform as I am with ARs and was wondering what all I would need to convert them to the newer style grip/selector.

Thanks.

Might want to try HKPRO, buttloads of knowledgable peeps over there on this very subject. If you plan on selling any of your current grip housings, let me know, I'll pay you whatever they are worth these days.

Are you looking to convert to the navy shape? Or a full on navy/ambi lower?

If you are just looking for the thinner, no finger grooves grip, while using your current pack. I'd get one of THESE from HKparts. You'll probably have to call and ask if you will need the un-clipped or clipped version for your MKE.

If you want the full meal deal navy ambi pack, You will need to get one of THESE, and again, call and ask which one will drop in your gun.

The navy look is far and away cheaper as it just replaces the housing.

Since you have an MKE, these will accept factory pushpin lowers. Only a small amount of opening of the slot is required for it to fit and sacrifice a push pin (Cut and Epoxy) and you are good to go. Your MKE should have come with a couple extra pins. They come with a strap, lock, cleaning kit and extra pins. HK specialist sells them the grip frames, for $60-70.

If you like the ergonomics of the AR platform I would tell you to investigate this lower.

http://www.robertrtg.com/hkarlower_clippin.html

It's copies the AR hand grip form for the H&K weapons platform giving you the mechanical angles that you prefer.

Hope this helps.

To be honest I'm ok with the Navy-style SEF housing. I would like a more usable selector switch though as my thumbs are about an inch shorter than German spec apparently. Does anyone make a short throw lever?

that really grinds my gears. if people keep telling peeps to g there we will never have any info here. i like hkpro too, but arfcom is where its at. there should be more info here. sending someone to another site makes me wonder if you work at walmart and tell people to go to target and not even look around at your store.

rant over.
