Selling a Lower of mine. Guy seems to want it, even sends his ffl info, and then sends the message at the top to me this morning. This is a copy and paste of the conversation from my pm box

Looks like a clear cut welch to me.

Unfortunately, it looks like a welch. If you had other buyers line up, and he cost you a sale, I would be hopping mad. I've not had someone welch on me that I can remember, and I'm one to let things go if it doesn't mess me up too badly.

Maybe you can work with him and give him time to get the cash and complete the deal. At least, offer the option and see what he says.

Looks like a welch. The seller shouldn't have to renegotiate or extend the sale so that the buyer can complete it like he said he would. I can empathize, but the bottom line IMO is that one should verify that they have the cash in hand before they make an offer.

If this is a welsh, so be it. I wanted it - i was sure the money was there; thats why the FFL info. Money wasn't there. I did NOT post to the thread, and did NOT keep seller on the hook any longer than necessary; offer was retracted within less than 12 hours. My apologies were sent at the same time. If this is unacceptable, then I will accept whatever punishment is deemed appropriate. However, I would respectfully point out that I have 100% positive feedback otherwise.

I am sincerely sorry to see that this has caused such consternation. Please inform me by email if I am locked, banned, or whatever.

Thank you all for your understanding. Good luck with your sale.

ETA: I did not wait a week before saying something, nor did I ask for an additional couple weeks to get the cash built back up. The OP never marked the thread SPF or otherwise post the item as potentially sold. I am not stating this in any attempt to excuse my actions, just pointing out that I was intentionally as forthright and courteous as the circumstances would allow.

If the OP still has the item in a couple weeks (two weeks from tomorrow, to be precise), I will be very happy to purchase this item from him at that time. However, until then, the cash I had set aside is no longer set aside.

Agreed. It would be a charitable move on the part of the OP but he's certainly under no obligation.

I had it only a few days before. And then I didn't. It was there, and then it wasn't. I don't know what else to tell you. Shit happens, and sometimes that shit surprises you.

Sounds like your making the effort to go through with this. Maybe you and the seller can work out a deal.

I actually WANT the lower; I just thought it would be wrong to ask him to wait.

OP, if you still have it in two weeks, I will PayPal that day.

Waiting ain't a bad thing, I have purchased several items off the EE board while deployed, if you explain your situation to somebody there is no telling what kind of mutaully beneficial deal you can work out between both parties.

This is a great site and I have not had a bad deal in almost 10 years of trading - and everyone that is a loyal member of this site wants to keep it that way.

This is a welch but what you and the seller work out is between you and he. If he wants to wait so be it, if not you will need to follow through with this deal now or face the consequences which is a Ban. From the rules standpoint it does not matter what happened to your money. If you do not have the disposable funds to buy on the EE you should not be buying. A welch is a welch period.

Yes and if we allowed every welch excuse that we hear, welching would be at epidemic proportions. Seller has IM'd me and does not want to wait 2 weeks. The responsibility for this issue is on the buyer not the seller. Buyer will receive a Ban for welching
