 -1 for rmcgee

In this ad I committed to purchase the Romy SF wire stock from rmcgee. I paid promptly for the stock via USPS MO and received a less than advertised item.

Upon inspection the stock is missing the two attachment screws. I slid the stock onto my AKM and the stupid thing does NOT positively "lock" in either the open or closed position. I can fold and unfold this thing WITHOUT depressing the button!

I emailed rmcgee about this and was basically told to pound sand, post a -1 thread and let the mods sort it out .. so here goes .. -1 for rmcgee.

Email commo is as follows:

Thanks, please send MO to..

I received your MO today for the stock, I will get it in the mail.

dxxxxxxxxxx@gmail.com Feb 27 to rmcgee
I got the stock in today's mail .. it is however missing the attachment screws. It was not advertised as missing screws, how would you like to make this right?

dxxxxxxxxxxx@gmail.com Feb. 27 to rmcgee
I slid the stock onto my AKM .. this thing doesn't even lock in place like it should! It is missing the attachment screws. Will you kindly refund my money?

rxxxxxxx@gmail.com 8:49 PM to me

What do mean it is not locking into place?? I never had this installed on a rifle myself but uninstalled it worked perfectly and sliding it into the rear of the receiver will not cause it to work any differently then uninstalled. furthermore it was not advertised as having screws either or being complete with mounting hardware.

If it is not locking into place either folded or unfolded the cosmeline may be gumming it up and needs to be cleaned..I know for a fact that there was nothing Broke on the stock when I owned/shipped it.

I cannot just refund your money based on the small amount of info you are giving me and if you feel a negative thread is in order carry on friend..untill you show me where I have wronged you on this deal I cannot do anything

dxxxxxxxxxx@gmail.com 9:02 PM to rmcgee

I mean it does NOT positively lock into place either open or closed.
The stock originally came with mounting hardware and if it was being sold without such it should've been advertised as such.
I don't need the drama of answering a bazillion questions in a -1 thread and would prefer to handle this like grown men. I'm not against doing so if I have to either.

Due to your advertising as a working (not) unit along with omitting the information about mounting hardware I'd say a refund is in order. I would not have agreed to a sale under these conditions.

rxxxxxxx@gmail.com 9:25 PM to me

How is this NOT a working unit? You push the button to fold and unfold and it locks both ways does it not? So far as it being a tight lockup it is like any other rommy sidefolder I have had..it locks tight or with a little slop but it does lock into position.

Just because it comes with screws originally does not mean it comes with them used..I have received a total of one side folder out of probally 8 over the years with the original screws and I was surprised they came with it.

Like I said it was not advertised as having or not having the mounting hardware and other people emailed questions before saying "I'll take it" from my post to confirm what was advertised and negotiate price so Maybe you should have as well.

Seeing nothing is broke on the stock and you are just unhappy with your purchase I cannot see where I have done you wrong so carry on with the -1 thread and let the mods sort it out..

dxxxxxxxxxx@gmail.com 4:36 AM to rmcgee

This stock does NOT lock up. You can fold and unfold the damn thing WITHOUT using the button.
I would like for us to work this out amongst the two of us but if you insist or better .. refuse to do so I guess I know what to do next.

There is all the commo where rmcgee clearly has no interest in selling a "working" stock or making anything right,

Should I take a video of the stock folding without depressing the button to prove this thing doesn't lock up?

IM and email link to this thread will be sent!

I had not responded to the last email where the member said "it does NOT lock into position" as I have been at work but I have read the message where he linked me to this thread and the last message from last night today when I got off work so here I am

When you were saying it was not positively locking (as you can tell from my responses) I did not know the stock was folding and unfolding without depressing the button, I assumed it was not locking up tight.

Have you even tried cleaning the cosmo out of the mechanism?

I have a strong feeling this is what it is as I never had this problem with it.

So far as the screws go..let everyone else decide it's all in the open to review for everyone.

Russell

ETA and at what point did I tell you to pound sand

rmcgee - you listed the stock as "works perfect" .. it does NOT

are you going to throw your rep away over an AK stock?

And I would not have put that if that was not the case.

He sent a email complaining that it did not come with screws and then sent a second saying it would not lock up, why would you not mention it will not lock up in the first email as that would seem a little more important to me..the stock worked perfectly when I owned it and I believe that he is just unhappy with it because it did not come with screws and was trying to find something wrong with it because he regretted his purchase for whatever reason.

And my question has not been answerd yet...did you even clean the cosmo out of the mechanism so it will not gum up??

So far it's my word against his and you believe him for whatever reason.

I never tried to doll it up and push it off on someone, I even considerd keeping it and having it parked for my own use.

I'm not accusing anyone of anything, it was just an observation.

Actully I do very much but at the same time I am not just giving into someones claims as yours if I do not feel they are legitimate reasons for reimbursement.

You STILL haven't answered my question...did you clean the cosmo out of the mechanism????

this is a smoke and mirror tactic .. NO I haven't taken the time to clean the stock (it's not FULL of cosmoline) and you described the stock as "works perfect"

Cosmoline is caked on parts of the mechanism and I truly believe this is what's causing it.. Its obvious you just do not want the stock and will make no effort to even clean it up so it works..if you did want it you would actully clean the cosmo out of it.

"just has a BFPU finish brown is dried cosmeline" this quote from the ad relates to the finish.

I will say again rmcgee. I want you to refund the stock price and the shipping for both ways. If you do not you will be gone.

I actually DO want a WORKING ROMY SF stock .. you advertised it as such which is why I bought it from you. I'll stop by the auto parts store and buy some carb cleaner and scrub the F-ing thing tomorrow. If it works .. will you reimburse me for the carb cleaner? If it does not lock up correctly will you refund my money, shipping both ways and the cost of the carb cleaner??

The seller listed this as perfect in regards to working order, it is not. The seller has been instructed to refund your purchase price with shipping but If you are going to make an attempt at "fixing " this "perfect " stock this thread is over

ETA to the OP, once you make an attempt to "fix " this stock it will become yours especially with the sellers poor attitude in this issue. A warning has been placed on sellers account for this issue
