-1 for Col-W
Below are the emails I received from Col-W is is very new here like myself so I thought I would post and let everyone know how 1 of his first transactions went. I was suppose to buy 1440 rounds from him and he said it was mine as you can read below. This is what I posted in the exchange probably the wrong place and I apologize but was very irritate, this is what I posted there
Not very cool, talked in IM was told ammo was mine sent him my info and waited 2 days. Sent him 1 email each day requesting the payment info each time. I didn't hear from him so I called him with number he provided me and he informed me he sold it to someone else. Not very cool! I was waiting on that ammo as I had let other deals go that seemed better but I had commited to him and didn't want to bag out. Will not deal with him again as he couldn't even tell me until I calld
This is my last email with him
Yes, it is boxer primed and reloadable - brass is every bit as good, if not better, than Lake City - though it has always been more accurate for me than Lake City. I think one of the reasons why everyone loves LC so much is the quality of the brass.
I haven't heard from these other people, if you want this it's yours. I'll need your email address, as well as shipping name and address. I'll email you a discreet PayPal invoice and you can pay using any major credit card, it will read something like "Collectible Items" or something like that. It will be from my wife, Debbie's, email address - which is $$$$$$$$$$$$$com, my email address is $$$$$$$$$$$.com. ############, cell ###########
$ 425
$ 45.28 UPS - residential delivery is quote from UPS.com *
$ 14.10 credit card fee
$484.38
* If shipping come out to be less when I get down to the UPS office I'll refund the difference, this seems high to me, they do have a residential delivery fee on there and a local delivery charge and a fuel surcharge. If you've got a business some of those fees might not apply when actually figured.
Col. Weddle
I sent this to him
I can do 425$ for ammo plus shipping let me know thanks
How were you proposing to pay and what is your address?
Col. Weddle
Is this ammo reloadable not to familar with it? thanks
IM and email him a link to this thread
I did already as soon as I posted it. Thank you
I have also sent him a IM.
I'm sorry this gentlemen is upset, and I hope he can forgive me for the way this worked out - this was an unintentional happenstance of multiple people interested and crossed communications. I have talked with this fellow on the telephone and have apologized, I think prior to this thread being opened and haven't been back on the board until today.
I had four people respond with interest, two emails arrived in my IM box saying they'd take it, and guy and this fellows first email was an inquiry. I responded to them in order that they contacted me. The first gentlemen was considering a pick up as he lived a couple hours from me, but changed his mind as his schedule didn't permit. The next didn't respond after a day or so, the third decided to purchase reloading supplies instead and this fellow was the fourth. I did email after this occurred, but in the interim the prior fellow called me and purchased the ammunition and the deal was done before I had a chance to take any corrective action. I did receive a direct email from this gentlemen on Thursday, but was out most of the day and talked with him on the phone that evening. I'm sorry it worked out this way, admittingly I got angry with people changing their minds and didn't handle this as well as I should have - the other fellow was actually before this guy and the issues crossed.
After the two people backed out I sent the last two, which this gentlemen was one the following:
"If you want it, let me know, as I'll take the first offer that can follow through. Will ship on Thursday morning as I have to be in Evansville that day. "
I accepted the first person that followed through.
The problem is that you never gave him time. Having tire kickers is part of selling on the net and you cannot lump everyone in the same basket, without giving them time to respond and work the deal out with you.
Normally we lock a person's account that has backed out on a deal.
Hookoil-What's your thought on this?
Just joined in March, 3 posts......A lock seems a bit harsh, maybe a stern warning.
But I know you didn't ask me

Want to second this thought. Why have negative feedback if we keep bootin guys?
Welches are one thing, fraud is another. I agree that backing out maybe should not be a ban-able offense.
Did any of you actually read my post? I did ask the op for his opinion.
Personally I don't like impatient sellers that do not give buyers time to respond.
There has been to much of that lately, as has been welchers.

Agreed, got myself into a catch 22 and didn't handle the situation properly.
The gentlemen lost an opportunity, and I apologize for that, it was not intentional. It was my err, and I understand his anger as I got impatient from the same thing. I haven't cheated him though, it's not like he paid me and I didn't ship the stuff. I'm not going to waste my time reporting the others that backed out as I don't see how its a productive use of my time. I just didn't sense that they intended any wrong. This gentlemen apparently believes I wronged him intentionally, if he can't forgive a mistake and needs retribution, then please close my account.
I am not looking to get anyone banned. I was simply trying to do what I am suppose to for the benefit of others on the site. Make no mistake about it I was promised this ammo as the other people were not responding he even went as far as telling me to expect a paypal bill.

Granted I never sent money to him, but much like myself he is very new here. Wanted to make everyone aware so if there are other problems in the future the powers to be have a record. I am letting it go and bear no hard feelings other then I will never buy or sell to him until he earns a good amount of positive feedback.
As far as weeding out the bad EE people may I suggest that you cant buy from EE until you have at least 2 or 3 positve buys. Its only a sugestion and probably deserves another thread if there isn't one already to hear feedback. Thank You for hearing me out

Of course I read your post. I'm just trying to put my two cents in to hopefully sway the OP to allow a newer member a slap on the wrist rather than banning.
I know there's been a lot of issues on the EE lately. But if we keep banning people we're doing two things. One, we're cutting down on participation of the EE which will eventually lead to me just giving my stuff to you since no one will want what I have left. Two, we're creating an atmosphere of intolerence. If we can't tolerate like minded people because they didn't read/understand the rules on day one of their membership then we'll keep the same core people around and never bring in new members to our society. Get a traffic ticket on day one of having your drivers license at 16 and loose it for life.
Sorry for detracting from the issue at hand.

Weeding out the welchers and members that back out of deals is hardly cutting down the participation in the EE.
Just look at the about of turnover in ads placed and members buying.
The level of transactions taking place now, is the highest I have ever seen, since I started using the EE in 2001.
In the past we have given members with a -1 a 2nd chance to deal in the EE, where did that get us?
More -1's for the them and then their eventual banning.
For every member banned, there are 10 new ones that follow the EE rules and become productive and trust worthy members.
I'll give
Col-W a -1 and let him live with this, as the OP has suggested.
Not what I would have done, but let's see where this goes for his future here.
Dog1, If I may say so I would like to see him given a 2nd chance but that being said the rules are clear which is the reason for my initial post. He does seem like a good guy when I talked to him on the phone, one that just got caught up in it and did not know the rules. Rules are rules that apply to everyone here. I am buying ammo and a upper, so far I have bought 3 things and hope all goes well so I can give and recieve positive feedback. After building up my positive feedback "bank" if you will I plan on selling a few things. I do however want others to know I am a honest guy when I sell hence the buying first. To allow people to sell right away on here opens this great site up to welchers. That being said I learned a valuable lesson in dealing with people who have not read and follow the rules. The only way to protect myself in the future I will only deal with guys that have feedback of a good nature. Thanks for your time on this matter.

Dog, I'm just not as jaded as you yet. I haven't been doing the mod thing so I don't have to deal with it. And I have my own feelings towards Col-W based on his #2 post
here..
Hopefully I won't be proven wrong.
Anyone can sound sincere on the internet.
I hope you are right. But in my experience, it goes the other way.
Thank you. Hookoil, actually I did read the rules before posting, and I do take duty and honor very seriously. At the same time though, I immediately had welchers. I'm a strong defender of our Constitutional system, yet every time I turn around oath bound people don't seem to know what that means. I want to operate consistent with the golden rule, but I want others to as well - it really doesn't work as a one way street. Thanks for the negative feedback.
In the moderators private email me he said the following, in part:
"One thing you need to know here. Your word is your bond. We take that very seriously here.
If you say you will complete a deal, then you must follow through with it.
That is how the EE works. "
In turn, I'm retracting part of my previous post and will open a feedback. While I am admittingly at fault, it was not representative of my character, rather responsive.
Edited - well, I guess not - apparently one can only leave feedback if someone responds in the ad, not by IM.
You can only leave positive feedback by using the button in your thread.
If you want to leave negative feedback for somebody, you have to start a -1 thread, like this one. You are not supposed to just leave a -1 for somebody without starting a -1 thread first.

If you have welchers, then leave feedback for them.
Start a -1 thread for each of them.
