Shipping a pistol vi UPS, price estimate?
About how much does it cost, figuring a package not much bigger than the pistol case.
FedEx requires Priority Overnight for a handgun, $75+.
Sucks.

Depends on several factors like amount of insurance, destination, adult signature option,etc..... but in general, and on average, it has been my experience that it costs approximately $45-$55 for overnight shipping of a 2-3 lb. pkg containing a handgun.
Here are some online calculators:

Good point but IIRC FedEx requires you to have a signature on a handgun and insurance is kinda important to me when I'm shipping a handgun.
I just sent out about 3 via FedEx and it ain't cheap. A long gun, on the other hand, is pretty cheap as you can sent it ground.

Fedex and UPS have raised their prices considerably. UPS wanted well over a hundred dollars for next day when I was shipping a Ruger LCR a bout a month ago
I was quoted 105.00 when I was thinking of selling my last pistol, not worth it, try to go through a ffl if they charge you 20 to ship it + shipping cost you'll get away at under $50
Which is why I ALWAYS try hard for a FTF.

How can they do that?
Thanks,

FFLs can ship the pistol via USPS priority mail, something non license holders cannot.
So for a 10 dollar transfer fee plus a flat rate box and insurance, you can get out at $35 to $50 by using an FFL to ship the pistol. Obviously useless if you live somewhere with $50 transfer fees, but I've had good luck with my local guy. 10 bucks to him plus actual cost of priority mail and insurance.
