Just checking in for any updates...
Wow, They sure knew which one to put their thieving dick skinners on...didn't they?
A thousand m4 clones go through these hubs everyday and they pick the one of a kind relic...
First thing I would do is make a list of who knew it was shipping and where it was
going..
A rifle such as this will make people, who you would never think of doing such a thing, do
crazy things..
Just saying..Stranger things have happened!
Keep your friends close and your enemies closer...

.gov at work.
as of 1/15 ups has not found it.the colt nickel sp1 was not the missing rifle.thanks for all the help.this rifle sticks out like a sore thumb.
Problem with UPS is you have to declare what you're shipping and thus there is a documentation of what you shipped for everyone to see. If they are unable to track its location then it's a sure bet someone snatched it right from a UPS hub and took it home. Personally I always us the postal service for mailing my long guns. You don't have to declare what is in the package for insurance purposes so know one knows what's in the box. And yes... anyone is legally allowed to ship long guns by mail. I've never lost one yet and have shipped probably 50 or more by now.
Hope this beauty turns up guy... and don't make the same mistake twice.
Why not provide the entire serial number? Hasn't the gun already been reported as stolen?
i will when i return home i will post full serial number.ups has sent a claim form.ATf notified.still seams like nobody cares at either place.
serial #SP184355
Has this been reported to the local police? All stolen firearms get entered into NCIC and most jurisdictions require pawn shops and gun shops to hold used guns until the serial numbers are checked. Get that serial# into NCIC!
found out that ups does not know where it went after hodskins il.gray la was a virtial scan.do not know where to report to local police.
Hope you get your rifle back soon.
Hopefully they checked the driver. Sorry man
Man,
If it makes you feel any better, I was in Bosnia in 99 and CID, via FBI investigation, arrested a guy for stealing weapons from UPS hub near NYC. Surprisingly, though it took a couple months to back track through all this, Bureau and CID did find out the who and even traveled 10000 miles to get the guy (MP from NY Guard) who worked in the hub.
Doesn't get your rifle back, but I hope it gives you a little glimmer of hope.
JEC
Damn shame.

This will be tough to move unless its painted.
ATF called today and said rifle was found and delivered on jan 15.WTF?why wait unrtil now to notify me?no other expliation from them or ups or buyer who said he was out of town.nightmare over, thank GOD.never ship ups again.
I'm lost....
So WTF?
Did the person that was to recieve it just leave you on the hook or say it never arrived in an attempt to screw you? Either way, it sounds like you took a mental screwing.

that is the crazy part.i got a email that said the guy was out of town and the rifle was picked up jan15 by his brother.why was i not notified by gunshop?why ups did not notify me?i had called them and the gunshop and nobody knew anything after jan 15?nobody is telling me anything and i am perplexed.i am going to forget about it and chalk it up to never use ups again.seams funny that i said i was going to cnn and it was found.like i always say, nothing means nothing anymore and most people do not care about their jobs or responsibility.
Glad it turned up!
