FHTF Spikes Group Lower Buy

Ok boy and girls we debated interest. We debated design and now we have a winner!
The design of choice is;

Base lower with Pictograms
State outline with FHTF engraved on the left magwell.
State seal engraved on right magwell.

As soon as I get pricing from Spikes we'll post purchase info.

If you have design skills or pics like the ones from the other threads
Please post your rendition of the winning layout.
Probably with less detail.

So this is some how going to look good engraved on a lower?

I really want to get a lower in this group buy, but I really don't know how this is gonna turn out on a lower (3"x3") engraved....this has been my main concern since before the polls were even started. Or will it end up just looking like an X with a circle in the middle.

Really not trying to be a negative Nancy here, but I just don't see how it'll work on a lower and still look like the FL state flag.

I guess I just need to see it mocked up on a lower to size.

I'll be in for one of whatever we agree on. This will probably come down to whoever is setting it up just making a decision. Getting everyone here to agree on a design is gonna be like herding cats

Big time fail. Keep it simple and clean. Florida outline on one side and spikes on the other. No FHTF stuff or the super in detail flag that will look like a mess when put on there. It's like a tattoo, you have to go big to make that look good..just my 2cents

+1 on this. I would say that we need to keep it simple to look good. Maybe a FL outline with a rifle or something...so we can look at our rifle while we look at our rifle.....

Maybe we should vote about it?

Although I agree with you that it will look gaudy with all of that on it, it was the winning vote and what that group of people wanted to buy.

OK, I know I am just the new guy...
But I don't go around talking down on people's designs unless I have a suggestion of my own. So I got on the ol photo editor and made something simple that still incorporate the HTF.

I'd have to see this and how detailed it would really be, becuase I just don't think it'll be detailed enough to really know what it is....it's the center part that worries me. Too much going on to be detailed. You have to remember the picture really can't be any more than 2"x2".

Go measure the right side of a lower and you will see there isn't a whole lot of space.

Oh I know. If it can be done, Tom would be the one that would know... If it can't, well he can tell us that too. When I originally brought up the idea I did say something to the effect that it could be difficult to do the center part of the flag... It was merely a suggestion....

I'm sure they know over at Spikes that if they release a product that doesn't look decent, chances are people won't buy it.. But like I said, they said they can do it....

id be for the state pictogram or a alligator on one side. but i rather have the state flag left off mine. however i figure its gonna be all the same or nothing or if some can have the american flag. all the people that said dont care. making this tougher for those that do care what it looks like.

I'm fine with whatever, but lets keep the reason for this in perspective. Group buy = lower price. If adding engravings makes it more expensive than a blank then it defeats the whole purpose. That's my $0.02.

What he said....this is getting tad bit rediculous with the he wants/she wants crap. After the BFL got shot down I'd almost just rather have a cheaper blank reciever.

Are we sure spikes is even around for this anymore? It seems like he disappeared... And if so, did we ever get a quote from ARFCOM for the BFL receivers? seems like an easy fix if they're cheap enough.

Agreed. The hole point of a group buy is for the PRICE!!! If I wanted a customer lower I would order one myself. Everything in this thread has been discussed EXCEPT the price. It would have been nice if we could have got a price range for these at the very beginning.

I thought this was for Team Members only.
