I am moving to Florida and would like to ship two guns to myself there. A pistol and an AR with BB. How do I do this? FFL to FFL? I have never shipped firearms in the past so more information is better. Thanks.

Shipping to yourself does not need to go via an FFL.

Ship in accordance with carrier requirements. Pistols must go through UPS or Fed Ex, and they require overnight service.

Longguns can go via USPS Priority (cheapest option) or overnight UPS or Fed Ex.

Remember to declare the contents - it's required. Disregard the half dozen yahoos who are about to show up and suggest that you call them "machined parts" or other such idiocy.

The package must be addressed to yourself and you must be the one to open it.

Wow, congrats! When you get to FL you wont need your BB anymore. Hope you kept your standard mil spec mag release.

So for the handgun I just address it to myself, schedule a pickup with UPS (and declare it a firearm) and be around to receive it on the other end? Seems easy enough.

And yes i did keep the regular mag release. It's gonna be a big day to replace the BB and slap a 30 rd mag in.

Send them all at the same time to save on shipping costs. You don't have to be there to sign for it, just send it C/O Custompony07/mom, and have an adult sign for the package.
You are the only one that can legally open the package though. It could sit there for weeks, but it has to be you that opens the package.
