I am looking for a reliable AR 15 gunsmith in Los Angeles. Thinking about converting my Colt A2 Match HBAR to a free float, railed upper.

Do yourself a favor and just buy a railed upper.
Personally I wouldn't pay someone to butcher a Factory Colt Upper.
You will probably end up spending about the same amount of money, but you will have 2 uppers that you can switch back and forth if you needed to.

My thought was to buy a railed upper without barrel and move the Match HBAR barrel to it and free float it for more accuracy.

I believe Ammo Bros Cerritos store does smithing and possibly Rifle Gear, but they are farther away from LA. Both are black rifle stores.

Not sure where you are located, but Cobra Tactical (www.cobratactical.com) in Santa Clarita can probably handle that for you.

Easy enough to do yourself. I'm in LA and can help you if you want some hands on experience. I have all the tools and have built about 1 doz uppers myself.
