Shooting ranges near Cincinnati?
Where's a good place to go to fire off a box or two of 45s? Some place where range time is a resonable price and there aren't any circle jerk rules, like 1 shot every 6 seconds.
I would hit up Shooter's Supply across the river. Very nice facility.
I'm going to be in that area for several weeks. Can anyone recommend an outdoor range that doesn't require a years membership?

I would also love to hear any responses to this question. I live in the Cincinnati area, and that new OneShot range in Newtown can't get completed soon enough. I can't find anywhere within an hour radius to shoot rifles outdoor.
I think Lake Bailee just opened in St. Clair Township.

$20 a day to shoot.
Totally not affiliated with them. I just got a mini flier from someone at the Friends of the NRA banquet last week.
The place sounds cool. I need to swing by and see whats up.
ETA: outside of that, I would be happy to take any out of town ARFCOMers to my home range while you are in town.
Great.. That helps, thanks!
Only if you have a friend that's a member.
They are coming from out of town.
They went to a per-registration system for their membership orientation. They are booked up until October.

Outdoor range time = SpringValley ran by the ODNR for the win. $ 5/day or a season pass is $25. North of Waynesville, south of Xenia off St Rt 42.
They have 15,25,50 and 100 yrd ranges as well as shotgun. There is also a nice bow range and bow trail.
Note: they do NOT sell passes at the range. But, you can purchase them online or at any place that sells hunting or fishing licenses.

So how did the 2008 "No carry of a loaded firearm on property" sign on front gate fiasco turn out? Did the bright folks that came up with that one get booted out?

FYI, since they are open on weekends, they are closed on Monday and Tuesday. You do not need a pass to use the bow or skeet range. You do have to use the rifle range if you plan on shooting your shotgun with buckshot or slugs. They also have a shotgun pattering station if you want to know what your load will do at various ranges.
The pistol range can be very busy on weekends. I try to go during the week.
Oh yeah, watch out for rabid raccoons!
Spring valley. Local gas stations sell passes. Best to go earlier in the day and week days are best. I usually go before lunch anytime I go. It's only 5min from my house lol.

Targetworld.net is a crap shoot for pistols, but it's arguably the most convenient place in town (until Newtown gets their facility up and running "sometime in late 2011."
With that said, it's slim pickings for rifles: some people shoot in the state parks - I think there is one on the north side of town but I can't remember where...
Spring Valley is the best no-strings attached range I've came across. I wanted a no-strings-attached range where the wife and I could shoot at our own pace and enjoy the time. At $25/year or $5/day, no NRA membership needed, the price is unbeatable. The drive is roughly 30min for me and you can normally find me there Friday mornings. Weekends tend to be packed, but getting there early Friday mornings I never have much of a wait on the 4 15yd pistol lanes.
I was just at Spring Valley this morning.
Pistol range was not crowded at all.
Great thing is you can reserve the CCW part of range to teach classes.
It books up quick but I managed to sneak in a class for Memorial Day weekend.
