FT Lewis Museum trip 2JUN
The Museum is open under limited hours. I plan to go have a look at the remodeled site this Saturday. The Museum opens at 12 so I plan to be at the Main Gate at 1100 to check in.
I might be into tagging along, but I won't know until later this week. I've got some school work due on Monday after so it depends on how much progress I make. I'll ring you in a couple days and see what's shaking.
Only a small portion of the first floor lobby has any exhibits, both floors of both wings are empty. The vehicle park is still in terrible shape and the majority of the vehicles lack any identification. The troop hatch on the M114 was locked open and rain has completely destroyed the interior. The remodel added an elevator and bathroom at either end of the lobby. :negative:
It took longer to get the day pass at the visitor center than I spent inside the Museum proper.

The url is bad (it has a double 'http'). It also appears to be a private album...
edited the link, got tired of the fucked up formatting here more than a year ago.
I set all of my PB albums to Private last week. Too many snitches on that site. AFAIK if you have the link you can view the album just no other albums.
The M551 brings back memories (gotta get in the way-back machine though).
Apparently Private doesn't work even with a link, none of those albums are password protected yet it was asking for one. Public now.

My unit had them (from the 82nd Abn) in support in Panama, they ruined some shit.
We had them in the Guard when I first went in. They were kind of junky, the 60's we got later were a big step up.
Sounds kind of disappointing. Considered making the trip with my dad for Father's Day but don't know if I want to spend the bulk of the time in the visitor center..

just a little, on the upside getting out of there at 1230 gave me plenty of time to shop for scope caps.
