Summerfest hotel suggestions
I am getting together with my 20+ year ago war buddy.
We are going to see the Scorpions like we did in 1988, this time at Summerfest instead of Frankfurt.
I am looking for a safe and clean place to stay the night.
I was looking at a bunch of hotels but realize I not only do not know how far they are from the concert, but how safe the locale is.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Anyhow, what kind of commute time is acceptable to you? MIl. hotels gonna be pricey, or you can stay 30 minutes away for $39.95
Just about any hotel in the downtown area is going to be fine. There is a MKE bus shuttle that runs up and down IIRC Wisconsin Ave, it's a couple of bucks and drops you off at the front gate.
Hyatt, Doubletree, Hilton might be a little to far to walk but right on the shuttle route. Pfister, Hotel Metro if you want to walk. Iron Horse is supposed to be cool. That area of downtown isn't really a bad area.
Iron horse isn't bad, pricey. but not bad. I used to work there, IMO i would try to get a spot at County Claire. Eastside is the spot for afterwards and its right off brady. there is another hotel off prospect i think its a holiday in, never stayed there but the club on the premises is nice.
