Hi All,

I'm looking to get a nice fence built around my back yard (maybe 150-170 linear foot), 6 ft tall or so. I live in Elgin, Kane county. Do you know any reputable builders in the area that will work for a fair price? Any insight into fence building?

Thanks!

do it yourself, me and my dad put one up in my yard. roughly 34 posts, and 31 6ft tall panel sections. we did it in 2 days, first day we dug and sank the posts (we useds a gas powered 2 man post hole digger). let the posts sit for a week, then put the panels up the following week, well worth it to do it ourselves and just pay for cost of materials

How much did the materials end up costing you?

ill have to get back to ya on that one, my dad bought all the materials as a house warming gift, and that was a year ago and I can't remember what the cost came out to be, ill check with him and get back to you.

If you decide to have one built send me a PM. I am having one installed, simply because I can't do it myself yet because of I had my hip replaced.

Thanks everybody for your replies. While I was away at work the wife called 6 companies to come and quote us. One of them just left, new I have a reference point for the rest of the quotes.
