What is there to do around Ft. Lee
Well gentlemen, I am currently TDY at Fort Lee and looking for something to occupy my time. The most I have seen so far is a few pawn shops around the main gate entrance. I read the range sticky and nothing stood out. What is there for gun shops, bars, restaurants or anything else worth checking out?
Bonus points if anyone can recommend a place with decent prices on tires and mounting.
There isnt much to do on that end of town. There is a pawn shop (forget the name) on 15th street in Hopwell that has an ok gun selection and the guys know their stuff, they do $20 transfers too.
Steel Horse bar and Grill in Chester is ok evenings and weekends, a few military folks frequent it. Its on Route 10 just as you get into Chester.
The American Legion post 284 is right up the road in Colonial Heights and their Topside lounge is pretty nice. Beer is cheap and cold and most of the staff is kinda hot.
For tires try Waller tire, its on route 10 also, family owned and good people. Other than that Sams Club by the mall has good deals.
If you wanna go shootin or to grab a beer at the legion sometime send me a PM and I'll see what I can do with my schedule.
Ive got property in zuni!! about 1 hour from there LOL

Richmond has a new shooting range coming, don't know if its open yet but people are really talking about it, this place has a tactical indoor range for LE, and MIL. might be worth a 30min trip north.

there's a small shop and range in Colonial hieghts, just up the hill from petersburg,
I've been there once, decent folks, had the range to myself on a weekday
food and drink,
can't beat old town petersburg,
longstreets, best beer selection in the area (unless you head to richmond and go to capitol ale house)
good food too, but service can be slow at peak times,
Brickhouse run, in cockade alley, english style pub, always a good bitter on tap, and damn good food,
alexanders has good greek/italian but is cash or check only,
there's a few other good places to eat in old town as well,
stay out of the rest of petersburg, unless you go to the crater battlefield
Thanks for the recommendations everyone. I'm going to do some exploring this weekend. I think I'll start low key tonight by hitting the American Legion.
