New job in McLean/Tysons area as of this past MON!
All I can say for, being unemployed is the sucketh!

All the $$ that ends up getting paid into the system in the event that you're unemployed, versus
what you get when you do end up unemployed, then they tax you on it again.....

Luckily I did get a severance package from the old company, or I
might have been in a world of hurt!
But anyway... the commute is going to suck, as I've been able to let MARC train do the driving for me over the past 6 years or so, but it's a job, and a bit
of a raise, so I guess I won't bitch too loud....
You know fate/karma/fill-in-the-blank is messing with you - go in MON, get in-processed at HQ, come home, get food poisoning!

(No more pre-made/
frozen Mexican food from the freezer aisle for the Tanker household.) Only one who didn't get sick was the little one, and we have no clue how she
missed out on it.....
Called the supervisor, left a msg on his phone, letting him know what the deal was, and he was understanding. THANK GOODNESS!! Show up tomorrow
for indoc at the customer site, and start work then.
(Yeah, that wouldn't have made a great first impression!

)
Any EPH members work down that way, maybe we can catch up and do the carpool thing? If so, IM me, and we'll see if our work schedules will mesh.

ETA: Probably going down Rt. 9, to Rt. 7, then to Tysons. Can use Greenway/TollRoad
once I get a new FastPass, or whatever it's called.....
Grats on the job!

Kind of a nasty commute there. Not sure about the WV part, but the VA part sounds like what you listed is your best option. The Greenway and Toll Rd are going to be killer on your wallet. It think it's close to $10 per day if you take it both ways. Depending on the time of day, you should skip the Greenway and go down Sycolin Rd to 28 to the Toll Rd. But that'll definitely add time to the commute.

Unless you can shift hours it is going to be a real b**ch.
Rt. 7 is a parking lot more often than not, starting very early and lasting a major part of the day.
Until the Metro is finished, Tysons via Route-7 is a complete clusterfuck - and that is being nice. They have all those roads tore to shit, constant lane shifts and no one knows how to drive on it.
Stick with the greenway/toll road to get in from WV.
Rt 9 is always awesome when there are the nearly weekly wrecks.
