 Stripped Lower Price

I know nothing about building AR's but its something I've wanted to try for quite awhile. I found Spike Tactical 'Zombie' multi-caliber stripped lowers for $200 (edit: $120 instead). Is that a low, average or good price? And does buying a stripped lower require all the paperwork? If not, at which point does it become a 'gun' in the eyes of the batfe?

The lower is what requires the paperwork i dont know if having all the colors makes it worth $200. Check out Cold Hand Arms he had the spikes lowers for about $100 his website shows that he is sold out but i bet if you give him a call he could probably tell you when he will be getting some more in and if he can get the zombie lowers.

here is the link to his webpage

Also is you don't care about it being a Spikes zombie lower you might check out Loki Weapon Systems they are made in OK

Yes, a lower requires the paperwork.
There is a stripped PSA lower on gunbroker right now for $80 and they have a pretty good reputation.

Out of stock right now but...

$200 seems a bit high to me.

I'm about to build a new upper.
The more I think about it, I probably need to buy a lower and build it too.
You can order a PSA for $79 and Cold Hand will charge you $10 for the transfer. You'll have $97 or so in the stripped lower.
The PSA lowers are really good. I've built two of them in the last few months and been fairly pleased with them.
Especially for the $49 price and $7 shipping.
Mark is sure to have some lowers.
I need to get down there and see him.

When you get a lower, make sure you get extra springs and detents cause you'll probably make at least one of each take flight. Ive got a couple of tools handy for a lower, if you'd like i can help you build it.

Call or txt David of 7 Element Firearms. He's in Moore, $10 transfers, see what he has.

Anything less than $100 from the well known reputable companies is a good deal in my opinion. If you're not in a hurry palmetto state armory has been known to run sales for their stripped lowers for $49.95 plus $7 shipping. No idea when/if the next sale will be though.

Don't forget to figure in FFL transfer fees on these. Can quickly make a good deal into a not so good deal

Ive only launched one spring that went UA, so I counted it as a combat loss

I have a stripped Spikes lower that I would sell if you are near OKC. Send me a PM if you are interested. Also, you should come up to Edmond for one of Steve's full auto shoots...

Gotcha, you might try Mark's Firearms in Moore. Steve at CHA is usually your best bet for in stock parts in OKC. $120 is high for a regular old forged lower, but your options are limited if you must have one with a zombie logo. I was just offering since I seem to have collected more lowers than I need....
