Teners western wear EDIT...Now with moar freedom hating businesses
The manager of teners was just on the news speaking out against the open carry bill. His words were the only people coming in the store with guns right now have a badge and we would like to keep it that way. Said that they would be putting up a no firearms sign. Looks like I won't be doing any business with them...
He's a liberal panzy dressed up like a cowboy.
they still in business?
fuck'em
Never have been able to buy a thing in there. Always found the best deals at Sheplers. Probably been a lot more guns in there than he knows. I know there was one every time I was in there. Won't be a problem in the future.
Just like when the CCW passed . They be the first to get robbed .
Nothing like appearing on TV and alienating a pretty good chunk of your potential customers. Its bad business for a retail business to get into politics, which is exactly what that kid from Tener's did, it really shows his lack of experience and business acumen.
looks like ill be going to sheplers only from now on
Looks like I will make one final visit to Teeners to let them know they lost my business.
Well, I will have to call and tell them to fuck off and they lost my business.
We need to make sure everyone in Ok knows.

Exactly! It always blows my mind when a business owner appears on TV spouting off their politics when in actuality my money is just as green as anyone's, and if they would have kept their mouth shut they could probably have earned some of it.
Never been there, now I have absolutely no reason to care for them. No skin off my back.
405-946-5500. . Call them be nice and say because of your stand on open carry I will not shop your store .
Yup...that's just bad business. I'm afraid this is going to happen even more if open carry is signed. Hopefully after/if it passes businesses are going to see it's not going to be the wild west all over again and ease up on the restrictions. Worst case scenario is people flaunt their newly acquired ability to carry openly and go showing off their gunslinger rigs and six shooters and more businesses follow Teners. Time will tell.
That's what I fear, a bunch of people will want to flaunt it because its new, and will create a bad impression. Most of the negative publicity is generated because people don't know that open carry is legal in a number of states, you just don't hear about it since very few people do it.
My personal interest was to eliminate the law about unintentional views of a concealed weapon, you could get in trouble for an unintentional flash, that was kind of dumb to include that in the original law.
I am from Washington state where there is constitutional open carry. I used to open carry when I was out in the woods camping, hunting, fishing, you name it outdoors. Other than that it was concealed carry unless it was completely unavailable. I now a bunch of people who open carry on a daily basis, and even in liberal WA its not a big deal. It actually surprised me find out that OK didn't allow open carry when I first moved here. There is a big to do about nothing if you ask me, open carry should be available to everyone permit or no permit. If you can legally own a weapon you should be able to legally carry said weapon just like the US constitution says.
Maybe Tener's should move their store to the land of plastic cowboys. Commie Kalifornia!
What was the name of the idiot from Teners? I want to be able to reference him/her when I call.
The video said he was the manager, he looked awfully young to me to be a manager, he looked like he was about 20-21 at best.

that's the way I'm going to do it; figure I'll look right at home in the western movie section in the electronics dept.
I found another business not interested in freedom or money. Advantage Insurance Group of El Reno president David Eaton posted on FB that he thinks..."It's crazy... stupid, dumb, etc.... that's all I can say about it. no open carry guns in my place of business"... Looks like I have to add another business to my "little black book"
BTW their contact info is...
117 S Rock Island El Reno, OK

HA-Larious!

here was my responce on Tener's contact.
"Please remove me from any mailing list I may be on or any other advertising you may have. This is in responce to your stance on open carry. I have been licensed to carry my firearm for 17 years without any issues, and I will not do business with anyone who tries to step on my constitutional rights as a US citizen."
Well that is just more reason to hit Sheplers, Langston, and Little Joes. As to carrying a six gun, why not? I think a cross draw rig with a SAA, Ivory handled grips belongs in a western wear clothes store

Goddamn!.........does that thing come with a stock?
got a lot of barrel on revolver

Just like the US Army used from 1873-1895 when they cut them down to 5 1/2". Well the ivory wasn't but I like ivory due to a certain US Army general from WW II.

5.5" barrel on a single action is more than enough barrel
5.5" is alright but with Holy Smoke the 7.5 is better

yeah man, but I don't like shooting blackpowder; I'm fucking lazy as hell so it normally takes me a few days/weeks to get around to cleaning my firearms after shooting them; some of them I haven't cleaned in years cause I don't shoot them but a few times then back into storage they go
Shoot some Holy Black and you will be forced to NOT be lazy

that's why I don't shoot it; hell it even corrodes stainless if you leave the "soot" on too long
Don't you love it that you get Wi-Fi in the stalls at the truck stop now––––makes staying connected so much easier

Hahahaha

That is funny
Yes I grew up in OKC, but summers was out and about in fields. One time a 18 wheeler jack-knifed on I-240 and a lot of the cattle that survived were running loose in the neighborhoods. Several of us were helping round them up. It was fun, and a sight to see traffic stopped while guys were on horseback on South Side OKC. I remember one lady was screaming there was a big cow in her backyard tearing up her garden. When me and a couple buddies went to the house there was no way a grown cow could be back there through that small gate––it was a calf. A couple buddies and me got that calf lassoed and out of her backyard––and she was right about the calf tearing up her garden. We made a little money on help rounding the cattle up, went back to the ladies house (she was elderly) to help her fix a few thing and got a home cooked dinner for helping her out––I don't think she knew how much three hs boys could eat
Another time one of the old timers down by my PaPa's place had a cow that had got stuck in a pond. It was the summer and the pond had started to dry up but was sticky mud as all get out. You could tell the cow had worked itself to death trying to get out. Well that was a mess and the smell was horrid but we ended up using a reciprocal saw to cut the legs and dragged it out. If we would have been smart we would have used it as yote bait but fishing that afternoon was more fun.
So to answer Gabby I have done a bit with cattle––especially eat them

I spent part of my youth raising, herding, doctoring, butchering them; they are a pain in the ass most of the time, but they sure taste good grilled, baked, roasted, smoked, fried etc. and when you got a piece of cow on your plate you raised cooked just like you want it; you think "HAH! you sonofabitch, you were troublesome and caused me grief, but now you're troublesome nomore and taste pretty Goddamned good and if I were a cobbler I'd make a pair of boots outta your hide"
Doubletree motel at warren place. What kind of motel has no weapons signage and charges 9 bucks a day for internet?!
I'm in one of the places by bass pro now, should have come here a month ago.
I did my part...we skipped Teners and went to Sheplers today and bought a pair of boots and some hats....that'll learn em'....why I bet they are throwing a hissy right now cause I didn't buy my stuff there heh heh.
