Beer in dry counties
Im going to be at the proam in RockCastle next summer and hear its a dry county. Are there any issues with me bringing my own beer for the hotel and poolside?? Tried to post this once but it went into the great unknown.
You shouldn't have any problems at all. At the rate 'moist' counties are appearing in Kentucky, Rockcastle may have beer sales by the summer. Good luck.
I would suggest having a unmarked container for poolside. It is perfectly legal unless hotel rules says no alcohol in pool area which a lot of them do something about liability if there were to be an accident. I would suggest having some unmarked container that way you keep both the hotel and these holier than thou(which they are lots and lots of especially when you go south or southeast of Lexington) types off your back
Dry counties only means selling of alcohol in that county is illegal. Bringing it into the county is still legal.
Keeping it in a cup would be a good idea since you could be cited for drinking in public if you are consuming alcohol anywhere outside of your room. Most Hotels in wet areas have some type of alcohol license that allows them to serve anywhere on the premises. The pool is usually not one of those areas due to liability.
Warren County is wet.
Or, I could just bring you some beer or whatever when I drive in from BG

Yeah. Warren County itself is dry. All alcohol stores are within BG city limits. Either way, it's only about 20 minutes from Rockcastle, so it's not a big deal if you need to make a beer run.

An hour is not a Big Deal if you have to make a beer run.
Thanks for the info. I figure to just grab a case or so of Corona on the way. Should be more than enough.

Bud light is OK for a nascar beer but when its hot you just cant beat a Corona. I grew up in Evansville which is farther south than a lot of Kentucky!
Cant wait for this match. Maybe a Ownesboro match again as well.
Forgot to mention one of my favorite things about Ky. ,,, drive thru liquor stores.

If you grew up in Evansville, I'd figure you as a Busch Light kinda man
I may be showing my age here, but I thought Sterling was the Evansville beer?
Of course I could be wrong, I haven't been in Evansville in over 30 years.
